Peter Tosh was an African Jamaican reggae musician born Winston Hubert McIntosh on October 19, 1944 in Westmoreland, Jamaica. He was one of the core members of the band The Wailers (1963–1974) along with Bob Marley and Bunny Wailer. After leaving the Wailers he established himself as a successful solo artist. Peter Tosh was a Pan-Africanist and a devout Rastafari.
