Shape monsters are a great way to combine Halloween with math! You can incorporate shapes, vertices and adjectives all in one. Have the kids create their shape monster then describe it using math vocabulary and adjectives
Create a shooting star (without the dowel rod, otherwise it& too similar to a wand). Attach part of a toilet paper tube on the back for the child to hold on while they wave the shooting star. Add tissue paper streamers and/or ribbon, and lots of sparkle!
