AIT . 50s
Finally I decided to share some pages of my little archive. I scanned several pages of old magazines and books during my studies. That's the working-room. This one is from a 50s AIT [Interiour] magazine

Hotel with Yoga Mat!
In Phoenix Arizona by Mike Daikubara I was on a business trip to Phoenix and stayed at Kimpton Hotels for the first time. Nice location, clean room but the best thing about it - Yoga mat in the room! They even offered free classes every night at a gym across the street which I ended up going every night. More sketches during this trip to follow soon :)
David Mallet: un salón très privé
After a successful career as a hair stylist, in 2003 David Mallet decided to open his own salon de coiffure in a “hotel particulier” from the 17th century at 14 rue Notre Dame des Victoires in Par…
Brussels: Royal Windsor Hotel layout
The 4th and the last hotel we stayed at during this trip. All hotels were different in style and had there plus/ minus', but we really liked this one - sketching this one was fun too. The only drawback was the AC was broken and it got really hot at night.
Hotel Sketches sometimes feels like hard work - Yet I'm still addicted!
I've drawn every hotel room I've stayed in the past 8 years by measuring and drawing on location. It started off as just a simple way of remembering my trip along with all the other sketches I do during a trip. Sometimes I get the temptation to just want to relax by watching TV over a drink or two. Last weeks trip to Rhode Island felt this way. My wife took…
The night is alluring. I don't mean I'm attracted to the dark 'Nosferatu-style' or that I have the full collection of KISS greatest hits. Instead, I find that sketching night scenes is quite a challenge, given the little tools a sketcher can carry. Pencil, a couple pens, watercolors and limited time.... When I began sketching I did not know how to get it, since using watercolor everything tends to look as a sunny midday flowery scene in the park. But some time ago, Robert Muts told me his…
