Monoprinting with the Gelli Arts® gel printing plate using recycled, reclaimed or upcycled materials. You'd be surprised to see how many texture makers you can…
Gel Printing With Blister Packaging
Have you ever tried gel printing with empty chewing gum packaging? It creates an amazing texture! Follow along with Gelli Arts® artist Birgit Koopsen's steps: Eat the gum! Roll out a thin layer of acrylic paint. Push the empty packaging into the wet paint on the plate. Repeat until the whole plate is covered; making the texture overlap in different directions makes the print even more interesting. Let everything dry. Apply a new layer of acrylic paint to pull the print. #gelliarts
Gel Printing With Plastic Packaging
Learn how to create beautiful monoprints with cookie packaging. Have a good look at packaging materials before you throw them in the trash. Cookie trays often have patterns or textures at the bottom and can be used as a texture tool for gel printing! Follow along with Gelli Arts® artist Birgit Koopsen: Roll out a thin layer of acrylic paint. Push the tray into the wet paint on the plate. Repeat until the whole plate is covered. Let dry. Apply a new layer of acrylic paint to pull the print.
Gel Printing With An Empty Deodorant Spray Bottle
Trash or treasure? Create a perfect ring pattern with an empty deodorant spray! Follow along with Gelli Arts® artist Birgit Koopsen as she rolls out a thin layer of acrylic paint on her gel plate, stamps with the bottle in the paint and transfers the paint to the clean area underneath the rolled-out paint. Once the paint is dry she applies a new layer of paint to pull the print. #gelliarts #gelprinting #printmaking #monoprinting #printingplate #trashtotreasure #markmaking
Gel Printing With A Paper Towel Tube
A paper towel tube is a perfect base for an ongoing pattern tool! Cut the tube to size. Make a small notch on the side of the tube and pull some string through. Secure the string with tape. Wrap the string around the tube and secure the end the same way. Slide the tube on a paint roller from the hardware store. Roll out a thin layer of acrylic paint on the gel plate. Use the roller to create texture in the wet paint. Place an already printed sheet of paper on top. Rub well and lift up.
Gel Printing With A Plastic Bottle Cap
Trash or treasure? That's for you to decide! The cap of a laundry detergent bottle can be a gel printing texture maker in disguise. Have you ever Gelli Arts® printed with caps? Vary with the way you 'stamp' with the cap and with color combinations to create different prints with just this one little treasure! The paper Gelli® artist Birgit Koopsen is printing on is 200gr. smooth card - the paint used is Liquitex and Amsterdam acrylics. #gelliarts #printmaking #monoprinting
