I found this interesting angle looking over wall, with the archway building the composition. Ely Cathedral was built by William the Conqueror as a prominent outpost after the bloody and lengthy rebellion by Hereward the Wake. Ely Cathedral (in full, The Cathedral Church of the Holy and Undivided Trinity of Ely) is the principal church of the diocese of Ely, in Cambridgeshire, England, and the seat of the Anglican Bishop of Ely. It is known locally as "the ship of the Fens", because of its prominent shape that towers above the surrounding flat and watery landscape. View On Black

Project 365 day 6, today I cycled into Ely first thing with the X10; the sun was trying hard to burn off the fog. Image uploaded to the iPad and processed with Snapseed. Shame the tree has been trimmed recently, health and safety!

The choir and a small orchestra were practicing in the central crossing for Sunday services during my tour. The music filled the cathedral and provided wonderful "background music" for the tour.
