1908 dated postcard view of the first trolley car in Gary, Indiana. This was the Gary & Interurban Railway Company and the date of this event was May 20, 1908. The car was full of passengers, one of whom was holding an infant outside a window for the photograph. A small crowd was posing outside the car. The Enchanted Forest brochure. I think this was produced in the 1980s. On the far right panel, is the ultra-rare Surf ride. This was the first thing you saw as you approached the park. It was either a Watkins or a Goforth ride - it was essentially an oversized Wipeout with a giant cone in the middle. The surfer on top would squirt water on the riders below.
