Last weekend, my family and I had the opportunity to hike in the Opal Creek Scenic Area and Wilderness. It is located east of Salem, in the Willamette National Forest. Opal Creek runs through thousands of acres of protected old growth forest, crisscrossed with over 30 miles of hiking trails.

Oneonta Narrows Oneonta Narrows is another of Oregon’s famously stunning waterfalls. Located at the Columbia River at River Mile 138, the falls are just half a mile up Oneonta Creek. The best way for visitors to reach Oneonta Narrows is by taking the Historic Columbia River Highway, which also takes in must-see sights such as the Benson State Recreation Area, Multnomah Falls, John B Yeon State Park and Ainsworth State Park.

Click here to view LARGE We hiked in the dark aprox 2 miles to reach our morning shoot at Capri Lake, unfortunately the morning light was a bust thanks to clouds along the Eastern horizon. So we hiked to this magical place. I think it more than made up for the missed opportunity at the lake.
Taken during my photographic expedition to Patagonia (Argentina and Chile), where I've camped and trekked for more than 150 km to capture some iconic places like Torres de Paine, Cuernos del Paine, Fitz Roy, Cerro Torre, Perito Moreno, among others. I had 20 kg of equipment load, autonomy in food, and drank water directly from glacier rivers, having no contact with the outside world for 12 days.
