by Tadarida | Sumerians are the earliest known civilization; they lived in southern Mesopotamia. There's very little info available about their clothing & most of it is about men. But it seems that women covered themselves in sheepskins (4000-2500 BC) or (from 2500 BC) woolen fabrics, decorated with tufts (Kaunakes). They either wore their hair long, in a braid wrapped around the head, or they wore wigs. They also wore elaborate headdresses and lots of jewellery.
