EL DISCÓBOLO (Lanzador de disco) Originalmente una escultura de bronce de la que sólo conocemos copias romanas en mármol. Representa un gran avance en la representación del movimiento, rompiendo con la formalidad y el hieratismo de la escultura griega anterior (estilo severo). A pesar de ello, podemos observar que la expresión de la cara no se corresponde con el esfuerzo del momento, y que la composición sigue pecando de una cierta frontalidad (pensada para ser vista de frente).
