Coronal Mass Ejection On August 2012 a long filament of solar material that had been hovering in the sun's atmosphere, the corona, erupted out into space. The coronal mass ejection, or CME, traveled at over 900 miles per second.

The sword on Orion. Interesting idea for nebula or universe tattoo. For similar photos... http://hubblesite.org/gallery/album/entire/hires/true/

The Sword Of Orion ~ The Orion constellation is noticeable for three medium-bright stars in a short, straight row. These stars represent Orion’s Belt. If you look closely, you’ll notice a curved line of stars “hanging” from the three Belt stars.

Éruption solaire

Ring of Fire, Solar Dynamics Observatory’s Atmospheric Imaging Assembly (AIA) shows a solar prominence taken from a March 2010 eruption.

On August 31, 2012 the Sun threw a major tantrum. It started with a vast arc of material towering over its surface, a stream of plasma flowing between two sunspots. Sometimes these collapse back down to the Suns surface, but this one exploded, blasting hundreds of millions of tons of material out into space. SDO captured this ridiculously awesome picture of the arc just before it erupted!

Zeta Ophiuchus, a massive star plowing through the gas and dust floating in space. Zeta Oph is a bruiser, with 20 times the Sun’s mass. It’s an incredibly luminous star, blasting out light at a rate times higher than the Sun! Even at its distance of

#Andromeda #Galaxy it's actually coming towards us hints the blue color from blue shift, the shortening of the light wavelengths

Andromeda's actual size of it where brighter: Andromeda is 3 degrees across, while the moon is degrees. With the naked eye however, we can only see the galaxy's core, not her arms. is million light years away and is about larger than our own Milky Way.
