Harp Sponge (Chondrocladia lyra) – or lyre sponge – is a carnivorous deep-sea sponge. It was discovered in 2012 using robotic submersibles operated by the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute. It lives off the California coast at depths of 10,800–11,500 feet. It traps small crustacean prey with barbed hooks on its branch-like limbs. Once it has caught something, the sponge covers it with a thin membrane to digest it. - info from Wikipedia and Ocean Portal
