Hussar jacket, October 1897 issue of The Delineator. In velvet and miroir moiré, an Eton jacket or coat closely fitted by a center seam, underarm gores and single bust darts, closed invisibly at the center front. Elaborately trimmed with jet passementerie. Over the sleeves, circular bell sleeves, box-plaited at the top, are trimmed with two knife-plaited ruffles of chiffon. Chiffon also forms a ruche on the Medici collar.
