Graduating project based upon the Charles Baudelaire’s volume of french poetry, Les Fleurs du Mal. A publication about beauty in graphic design and photography, and contradiction or fears related to the fact of creating, pursuit of an ideal of beauty.
The red type matches with the red thread used in the binding, not only bringin the piece together, but allowing a focal point on each page as our eyes are drawn to the high contrast and bright color of the red.
Layout ideas - Designed by Jake Hill. I am inspired by the angled cropping of the images. It creates great eye movement, and visual interest. There's a great balance of negative and positive space throughout the layouts.
