Explore Fireworks Displays, Explosions, and more!

El hecho más trascendente del Renacimiento en Astronomía fue el cambio de actitud y mentalidad en los científicos. La experimentación empezó a hacerse filosóficamente respetable en Europa. -Cristina Ramírez-

Celestial fireworks: Resembling the puffs of smoke and sparks from a summer fireworks display in this image from NASA's Hubble Space Telescope, these delicate filaments are actually sheets of debris from a stellar explosion in a neighboring galaxy.

I read this, " we are facilitators of our own evil creations." Which quote do you like best? HA!

The colorful Eagle Nebula taken at the National Science Foundation's telescope on Kitt Peak. Located in the constellation of Serpens, the Serpent, the Eagle Nebula is a very luminous open cluster of stars surrounded by dust and gas.

Hubble Image of the Day – Stephan’s Quintet February 18, 2014 This portrait of Stephan’s Quintet, also known as the Hickson Compact Group 92, was taken by the new Wide Field Camera 3 (WFC3) aboard the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope. Stephan’s Quintet, as the name implies, is a group of five galaxies.

Galactic Wreckage in Stephan's Quintet - A clash among members of a famous galaxy quintet reveals an assortment of stars across a wide color range, from young, blue stars to aging, red stars. This group is also known as the Hickson Compact Group 92

Nebulous Strings in the Veil Nebula. This image shows a small portion of the Veil Nebula - the shattered remains of a supernova that exploded thousands of years ago. The Veil Nebula is located in the Constellation Cygnus about 1,500 light-years away. The entire structure spans about 3 degrees on the sky (about the size of 6 full moons). On a larger scale, the hot ionized gas that makes up this nebula forms a giant loop that is more than 100 light-years across. Credit: NASA/Hubble

Soooo Wow !!! The Butterfly nebula, NGC 6302, lies about 4,000 light-years away in the constellation Scorpius.

Look in the center, it appears like Jesus standing on the cloud, extending His arms as He creates part of the universe!

Wizard Nebula

Wizard Nebula- I wish that when I die, I could see the universe (multi-verses?) in this false color imaging in my afterlife, forever, with the same sense of wonder I have now.

The Horsehead is a dark nebula in the constellation Orion. Located just south of the star Alnitak, which is farthest east on Orion's Belt, and is part of the much larger Orion Molecular Cloud Complex. The nebula was first recorded in 1888 by Scottish astronomer Williamina Fleming. Approx 1500 light years from Earth. It is one of the most identifiable nebulae because of the shape of its swirling cloud of dark dust and gases, which bears some resemblance to a horse's head when viewed from…

Andromeda Galaxy ~ a massive spiral, 2.5 million light-years away, over twice the diameter of our own Milky Way, it's the largest nearby galaxy. Its population of bright young blue stars lies along its sweeping spiral arms. (Spitzer Space Telescope)
