I think the American soldiers are being picked up from there patrol. The helicopter Is waiting for all the troops to get on board. Some men need medical assistance and some might have to wait for another chopper because there is not enough room for all the soldiers. I wonder how many people are able to fit onto a helicopter?

Because the terrain in Vietnam was made up of dense jungles and hills, the Americans used helicopters as transportation. This allowed them to drop soldiers right into combat and could pick up the injured quickly.
