close up of a Sand Mandala. I remember school taking us to watch the Buddhist monks making sand mandalas and it was breath taking the detail they can make with sand. it teaches you mindfulness, all of it can be swept away with a little gustof wind.
Tibetan sand mandalas are carefully, lovingly created by hand and then destroyed to show the impermanence of all things. I was fortunate to view a mandala being created in Whakatane, New Zealand by visiting Tibetan Monks.
