Tibetan sand mandalas are carefully, lovingly created by hand and then destroyed to show the impermanence of all things. I was fortunate to view a mandala being created in Whakatane, New Zealand by visiting Tibetan Monks.

This would be a great way for kids to explore mandalas in Buddhism.
