"I is for Ibis"
Not too many animals begin with "I" but this beautiful glossy Ibis does! Not sure I've ever seen one. This is day 10 of the challenge, and I've been in the top 100 posts every day- not that that matters but its fun to try to my painting finished and posted by 7:30 AM ( I start it the day before usually) - so many people all over the work are doing this. See todays paintings here. Yes I've hidden the small "i" here!
"D is for DOG"
How could I not do a dog for d? So having no theme initially one has organically evolved here. So far I have only done animals- I paint what I love, and I do love animals! I feel like I could do many of these series- food, objects, actions, all using the alphabet. I've hidden the lower case letter in here, and used a friends suggestion to cut out the large letter. Like it a lot more. I love all the help I get from you guys- thanks!
Re-do... A is for Anteater
I decided to re-do the letter A. When I started this series I wasn't planning on doing animals, so the A for artist didn't quite mesh with the rest... I'm not a huge fan of alligators so I went with the anteater....these guys are really strange. They have no teeth as their diet consists mostly of ants and termites. OMG that tongue!
"J is for Jaguar"
I've been using photos from a site called "Paint my Photo" It's fun - tons of images-and copyright free- and I can share with the photographers what Ive done. Feels better than swiping from Google... In other news- the Alden House paint night is next Thursday the 18th and its $45. for non members. We will paint step by step this image. Its a fundraiser for this beautiful historical landmark. These places need help to continue to be. If you would like to sign up and would like more…
"B is for Bumblebee"
My stepdad Rollin was a beekeeper. I wanted to do a honeybee for him, but I think bumblebees are cuter. You can actually pat them with your finger and they don't sting you. I had a suggestion to use the upper case letter as kids learn that first. Who knows- these paintings might be hanging in a classroom someday- or made into a book. I'm considering hiding the lower case letter in the painting, might do that later. Thanks for looking! I'm loving this project.
Day One-30 in 30 challenge! "A is for Artist" 6"x6" collage and mixed media
A follower on my blog suggested I do an alphabet - I loved the idea! I am finally getting around to it- thanks Julie White! I started this by collaging pieces from a discarded dictionary onto the panel, then painting over it. I thought more of the collage would show but it didn't seem to work out that way… I wasn't sure what I would do for A, the artist seems like a great way to start. The challenge is online- Leslie Saeta has sponsored 4 of them so far - I really enjoy the challenge. There…
