The ship Lusitania, departed from New York May 1, 1915 and sunk by the Germans on May 7, 1915 while the Lusitania was on it's way to Liverpool. 1,198 of the people aboard the Lusitania died out of the 1,925 people on the ship. 128 of them were US citizens. Germany sunk the Lusitania wanting to cut off all war supplies to Great Britain. This was one of the factors leading the U.S. into ww1.
