Found at Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, France, on the Mediterranean coast in the heart of the Rhone Delta; the area is also known as the Camargue Delta. The semi-feral Camargue horse is considered a primitive breed & probably evolved in the Camargue Delta for centuries, possibly thousands of years. Nautiluses occur in the tropical waters of the Pacific & Indian oceans, near the coasts of Japan, Fiji, New Caledonia, & Australia. They have a shell diameter of 4" to 10" across & more than 90 tentacles — the most of any cephalopod. Unlike other cephalopods, instead of suckers their tentacles have grooves & ridges which are coated with a sticky secretion. A nautilus may live for more than 20 years, reaching maturity in 12 to 15 years. Pacific, Marine Biologist, Species, Marine, Oceans, Cephalopod, Shell, Ocean, Creatures
